Summer Stomach Bug

Vomiting bugI am starting to hear about a very mild stomach upset affecting people, maybe the heat is causing this mild infection?

The symptoms are vague, nausea, light headedness, weakness and debility, loose stool - that are not in themselves bad enough to put people in bed or off sick from work, but are noticeable. The loose stool seems to last for a couple of weeks and can cause people to rush to the loo, but it is not an actual diarrhoea.

It maybe that the symptoms are exacerbated by the increase in fruit, fluids and sugary iced products people are ingesting to counter the heatwave, but there does seem to be some sort of bacterial infection as well. So far, the symptoms are too vague to suggest any particular homeopathic remedy, so the advice at present is to go gently on the fruit, but keep up the fluids. Sugary drinks, though usually proscribed (because sugar is bad for you!) may actually be helpful as sugar tends to sterilise the gut. However, honey is much better for you than fizzy drinks or ice cream, but in this heat, it may be cruel to forbid them. However, if you can make your own honey sweetened drinks and ice lollies, especially for the children, it may save you and your children some grief and help bind up the loose stool phenomena.

I will post more as the symptom picture develops…..
