Casamance SenegalFrontline Senegal blogspot:

I launched Frontline Senegal in 2003, to coordinate funds for a health and education complex in Casamance – a former civil war zone in Senegal, West Africa.

Following the initial establishment of a clinic – complete with ambulance – the next phase of the complex was construction of a six-classroom secondary school. This was completed in November 2005, thanks to donations from friends and supporters around the world (notably TWIG - the Toulouse Women’s International Group).

I have now turned my attention to the next step - creation of an infant school/kindergarten in an area with no equivalent facilities whatsoever (see Infant School link).

A UK registered charity, Frontline Senegal is however not a large association so I can’t impress (or irritate) you with heart-wrenching adverts and publicity stunts.

However, I can guarantee that not a single penny of what is received goes on administrative costs, middle men or TV ads. And also that the schools and facilities built will totally transform the lives of thousands of local children and their families for generations to come.

All donations, however large or small, are very gratefully received. To put this into context:
€12 (£8) = copybooks for an entire class
€60 (£40) = enough toys for 50 children
€120 (£80) = a tonne of cement
€600 (£400) = entire school roof

Donations can be made by sending a euro or pounds sterling cheque for “Frontline Senegal” to: Frontline, 3 Hanging Lees, Rochdale OL16 3SG, UK.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Note: Frontline Senegal is part of Frontline – registered UK charity number 1081319.

One Response to “Frontline Homeopathy”

A new quackbusting blog, associated with Telegraph journalist Damian Thompson, counterknowledge.com

“The scandal of Frontline Homeopathy” is written by Will Heaven, a student at York University. Heaven works himself into a lather because Frontline Homeopathy treated a pneumonia patient in Senegal, but he completely omits any mention of the followup of the patient’s recovery detailed in the Frontline blog. Thompson has joined in, defaming Frontline Homeopathy as ‘dangerous and lethal’. Their intellectual calibre can be gauged from the lamentable ignorance of basic medicine shown throughout, and a personal insult levelled at a user of homeopathy who replied that it removed his migraine and rheumatoid arthritis after conventional analgesics failed.
