Hi J Chase

I am writing up all of the characters associated with homeopathy in America, no matter how.

I wrote up the Chase surname because Francis Ellwin Chase inspired Royal Samuel Copeland to become a homeopath

http://homeopathy.wildfalcon.com/archives/2008/05/07/the-copeland-surname-and-homeopathy/

and because Salmon Portland Chase was a friend of George Brinton McClellan

http://homeopathy.wildfalcon.com/archives/2008/05/05/the-mcclellan-surname-and-homeopathy/

And these people were all interested in homeopathy.

How nice to have such illustrious ancestors!!

Hello Susan,

Thank you for your very interesting posting on the Chase surname and Homeopathy. I am related to at least two of the Doctors that you profile, Dr. Durfee Chase and Dr. Henry S. Chase. Just out of curiosity, why are you necessarily interested in this family name and its association with Homeopathy rather than just orthodox doctors who switched to a homeopathic practice?

Cheers,

J Chace

Hi Kelly

How wonderful to discover such an ancestor - all to learn about all of the other wonderful Americans and homeopaths and their supporters from this time. They certainly were greats!

How wonderful to know that Penn School is still thriving. Simply wonderful!

I enjoyed reading this very much. I am inspired to add that today, May 4th 2008 I am attending a dedication of the Penn School Bell mentioned above. I am a relative of Laura Towne on my father's side, my maiden name was Towne. Laura's story has been a revelation to me and my contemporary family. We rejoice in learning of her accomplishments of the past and the true joy comes in seeing Penn Center's continued role in the community here on St. Helena's Island.

I am going to Brattleboro, VT this weekend (May 2-4, 2008) to research more about my great-grandfather, Christian F. Schuster, who came to the States around 1840 and was hired by Robert W. as musical director at the Wesselhoeft Water Cure (Hydropathic Establishment) in 1845. I don't know how long he was at the water cure, but he was also organist at the Centre Congregational Church in Brattleboro for 19 years.
I wonder if you have any information about him?
Thanks so much.

Dr.Humprey,MD, homeopathy physician and who developed in end of century 19´s the worldwide famous series of homeopathic complex formulas and industrialized it in USA and later all over the world...

This attitude caused his expulsion of the American Medical Homeopathic Association..

I am 85 years old, a double transplant from Kentucky to Texas in 1941 and Texas to Costa Rica in 2003. For ten years I've gathered material and written, then rewritten again and again, a novel about physical immortality and a non-nation 'country' operating on the concepts of Henry George, Silvio Gesell, John Dorsey, Sr., A. J. Nock and many others.

This morning I found on opednews.com an article about raw milk being suppressed in California. In it the writer quoted the Zenda Avesta paragraph about pure air, pure water, and pure food as vital for survival of civilization.

In 1956, I met Dr. Albert Carter Savage, who had written Remineralization, Will It Reach You in Time? I spent some months studying with him and believe now is the time to push for a return to food-growing and food-distributing systems based on sanity and sense instead of greed and coercion.

When I finish this book in about a month, would you like for me to send you a copy by email? I work in Word Perfect but can convert to MS Word if you would like to have it. No obligation but would like a comment, either positive or negative.

Thanks.

Sue,

You and your readers may be intrigued to know that in the making of the film "Little Women," the producers were so intent on making the film as accurate as possible, they actually "rented" the use of four of my mid-1800s antiquarian homeopathic textbooks for one scene in which one of the girls is treated with homeopathic Belladonna when she contracts scarlet fever.

For people who may want to read more info about other "Literary Greats" who used and/or wrote about homeopathy, see an excerpt from my book here:
